Green technology and the transition toward renewable energy are the focus of this Majlis Mohamed bin Zayed session. Held as part of activities to mark 40 years of diplomatic relations between the UAE and China, the session examines how advancements in hydro, wind, and solar energy can support a global transition away from fossil fuels. The speaker emphasises the role of international cooperation, innovation, and policy in enabling sustainable energy systems, highlighting shared opportunities for building a cleaner, more resilient future through technology and strategic partnership.

Founding Director, Center for China and the World, City University of Macau

Charles Yang‑Sheng Liu is the founding Director of the Center for China and the World at City University of Macau. From 1975 to 1990, he held senior roles at the UN Economic & Social Council, leading major economic negotiations for developing nations. He later served as Managing Director of Lazard Asia (1991–1999) and was a UN Secretary of the G77 group of developing countries.
