Architect and author Michael Pawlyn presents a compelling case for integrating the built environment with natural systems to enhance collective wellbeing. Drawing on successful examples in architecture and environmental design, he highlights the Sahara Forest Project, water-harvesting structures modelled on camel nostrils, and moonlight-powered venues as proof of concept. Pawlyn argues that embracing nature in design goes beyond improving resource efficiency – it offers a pathway toward sustainability where human settlements contribute positively to the health of the planet.
