Why We Age and Why We Don’t Have To

Why We Age and Why We Don’t Have To

Wellbeing
11 APRIL, 2023

This session presents a transformative view of ageing as a treatable condition rather than an inevitable process. Drawing on the fields of genetics and epigenetics, the speaker introduces the ‘Information Theory of Aging’ and the discovery of a ‘backup copy’ of youth encoded within each cell – a finding that opens the door to potential age reversal through epigenetic reprogramming. The session explores emerging possibilities for extending both lifespan and healthspan, alongside practical guidance on lifestyle choices and the potential role of supplements in activating the body’s natural defences. The discussion also touches on the UAE’s growing contributions in genomics and artificial intelligence and the promise they hold in advancing global medical innovation.
